BSNL has introduced a new prepaid plan that is attracting a lot of attention. Unlike other operators who generally give 28 days of validity, this BSNL plan offers 30 days of benefits.
The plan comes with 2.5GB data per day, unlimited calls, and 100 SMS per day — all for just ₹225.
This plan is a good option for users who want more data along with calling at a budget-friendly price.
Interestingly, after private telecom companies increased their plan prices last year, many users switched to BSNL.
This move helped BSNL post profits for two consecutive quarters, something it hadn’t seen in years.
BSNL 4G Launch: A Historic Step
Another big milestone for BSNL is around the corner.
On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially launch BSNL’s 4G services, covering nearly 98,000 sites across India.
What makes BSNL 4G special is that it is completely based on indigenous technology, making India the fifth country in the world to develop and supply its own 4G hardware and software.
With this rollout, all telecom operators in India will now have 4G services, while Jio, Airtel, and Vi already provide both 4G and 5G.
TCS and Other Partners Behind the Rollout
The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) developed the 4G core network, while Tejas Networks worked on the radio access network.
The integration of the entire system was handled by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).
Together, they ensured a smooth setup of BSNL’s indigenous 4G technology.
