Post Office Customers Can Now Check Balance with E-Passbook — See Process

The Post Office has always provided different savings and investment options. With increasing digitalization, it has also started offering many services online.

One such facility is the e-passbook service. Earlier, customers could only check their transactions through a physical passbook. Now, they can view their balance and mini-statement online from home.

What is an E-Passbook?

The e-passbook is an online feature that lets customers check details of select post office schemes such as Savings Account, Public Provident Fund (PPF), and Sukanya Samriddhi Account (SSA).

At present, it provides balance and mini-statement services, while full statements for all schemes will be introduced soon.

How to Check Mini-Statement?

As per the India Post website:

  1. Select your scheme and enter the account details.

  2. An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.

  3. After verification, choose either Balance or Mini-Statement option.

  4. The details will appear on the screen, and the mini-statement can also be downloaded if required.

Steps to View E-Passbook Online

Visit: https://posbseva.indiapost.gov.in/indiapost/signin

Enter your mobile number and captcha.

Verify with the OTP and click on the e-passbook icon.

Enter your account number and registered mobile number.

Enter the captcha and view your e-passbook.

Post Office Service Charges

Some charges for Post Office Savings Bank (POSB) accounts are:

Duplicate Passbook: ₹50

Statement of Account / Deposit Receipt: ₹20 per case

Passbook for lost/mutilated certificate: ₹10

Nomination change/cancellation: Free

Account transfer/pledge: ₹100

Cheque Book: Free for 10 pages per year, then ₹2 per page
