Bank of Baroda has introduced International UPI services through its UPI app, bob ePay, allowing customers to send and receive money from abroad in real-time.
The bank has added three major international features to enhance cross-border digital payments for Indian and NRI customers.
1. UPI Global Acceptance
Bank of Baroda customers can now make payments to international merchants by simply scanning a QR code using the bob ePay app while travelling abroad.
The payment will be deducted directly from their Indian bank account.
This service is available in eight countries:
Mauritius, Singapore, UAE, USA, France, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bhutan.
The app will display the amount in both international and Indian currency, along with details of exchange rates and fees, ensuring full transparency.
2. Foreign Inward Remittance (Only from Singapore)
Indian residents with Bank of Baroda accounts can now receive real-time, 24×7 money transfers from Singapore.
Senders in Singapore only need to enter the recipient’s UPI ID/VPA.
The money is sent in Singapore Dollars (SGD) and credited in Indian Rupees (INR).
This feature is especially useful for sending financial help to family members in India.
3. UPI Services for NRIs
NRI customers can now use UPI through bob ePay for both sending and receiving money.
By linking their NRE/NRO accounts to a domestic mobile number, NRIs can:
Make peer-to-peer transfers
Pay Indian merchants while visiting India
This service allows NRIs to access the full power of UPI even while abroad.
Transaction Limits
The daily and per transaction limit for all international UPI services is ₹1 lakh, which is the same as the domestic UPI limit.
App Availability
The bob ePay app currently has over 13 lakh registered users.
It is available for download on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
International services can be enabled within the app under Settings.
