Sometimes, a passport is urgently needed—for official work, medical emergencies, or sudden travel plans.
In such situations, the Tatkal Passport service is a quick solution. It’s designed for those who need a passport on short notice to travel abroad.
What Makes Tatkal Passport Different?
The Tatkal process is much faster than the regular one. While a normal passport takes 30 to 45 days, a Tatkal passport can be delivered in just 3 working days after submission—without waiting for police verification. Also, it does not require a verification certificate from any gazetted officer.
Documents Required for Tatkal Passport
According to the Passport Seva website, you need to submit any 3 of the following documents:
Aadhaar Card or e-Aadhaar
Voter ID
Employee ID (Government or Private)
Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC)
Pension documents (e.g., Pension Book)
PAN Card
Valid Driving License

Children of Indian parents born outside India
