Ration Card: If you are using government ration or any related scheme, make sure to complete this important task by June 30.
The government has made e-KYC (electronic Know Your Customer) mandatory for all ration card holders.
The final deadline is June 30, 2025, which means only four days are left. If you fail to complete the e-KYC by this date, your ration card may get cancelled, and you will stop receiving free or subsidized ration.
Why is e-KYC for Ration Cards Important?
The government wants the ration distribution system to be transparent and free from corruption.
It has been noticed that some people misuse the system by using fake ration cards or take benefits despite being ineligible.
In a few cases, people continue to take ration even after the death of the cardholder.
To fix these problems, the government started the e-KYC process, where the identity of the ration card holder and family members is linked to their Aadhaar cards.
This ensures that only the right and deserving people get the benefits.
Deadline Extended from March 31 to June 30
Earlier, the last date for e-KYC was March 31, 2025. But many people couldn’t complete it due to technical issues and lack of awareness. So now, the new deadline is June 30, 2025.
