32 Airports Closed amid India-Pakistan Tensions

In response to rising tensions between India and Pakistan, the Indian government has taken significant precautionary measures.

To ensure citizen safety, the Airports Authority of India, along with other aviation bodies, has temporarily closed 32 airports for civilian flights.

This closure will last from May 9, 2025, to May 14, 2025, until 5:29 am on May 15.

The affected airports are primarily in North and West India and include major cities like Amritsar,

Chandigarh, Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Jaisalmer, Bhuj, Jodhpur, Ambala, Pathankot, Kullu, Shimla, and Bathinda.

A ‘NOTAM’ (Notice to Airmen) has been issued at these airports, informing that no civilian flights will operate during this period.

Bikaner, Chandigarh, Halwara, Hindon, Jaisalmer, Jammu, Jamnagar, Jodhpur, Kandla, Kangra (Gaggal),

Keshod, Kishangarh, Kullu Manali (Bhuntar), Leh, Ludhiana, Mundra, Nalia, Pathankot, Patiala, Porbandar, Rajkot (Hirasar), Sarsawa, Shimla, Srinagar, Thoise, and Uttarlai.

In light of this, security agencies are maintaining high alert, closely monitoring airspace usage.

The government’s decision is to ensure the smooth and secure execution of military activities under Operation Sindoor, emphasizing India’s readiness and vigilance regarding its airspace security.
