Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarpu Ram Mohan Naidu launched a new daily flight by Air India Express connecting Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada at Visakhapatnam International Airport.
This flight reduces the travel time between the two cities to just one hour.
Air India Express currently operates 28 weekly flights from Visakhapatnam, linking it directly to three domestic cities: Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Vijayawada.
Flight Schedule Details
The new flight from Visakhapatnam to Vijayawada departs at 9:35 AM and arrives in Vijayawada at 10:35 AM.
The return flight leaves Vijayawada at 7:55 PM and reaches Visakhapatnam at 9:00 PM.
From Vijayawada, Air India Express offers 23 weekly flights to three domestic destinations—Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Visakhapatnam—and one international destination, Sharjah.
During the inauguration, Union Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu emphasized that these flights will boost business and tourism.
He stated, “The new daily flights will meet the needs of both cities and enhance access for business, education, and tourism.
” Air India Express Managing Director Alokesh Singh added that the airline is committed to providing connectivity with a growing fleet of around 90 aircraft.
Expanding Connectivity from Visakhapatnam
Air India Express connects Visakhapatnam to 21 domestic destinations, including Ayodhya, Bagdogra, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Guwahati, Gwalior, Indore, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Mumbai, Pune, Srinagar, Surat, Thiruvananthapuram, and Varanasi.
Additionally, the airline serves three international destinations: Dammam, Jeddah, and Riyadh.
From Vijayawada, Air India Express provides one-stop connectivity to 15 domestic destinations: Bagdogra, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Jaipur, Kochi, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, and Varanasi.
