IMD Warns of Rain Starting August 23 in Chhattisgarh

The monsoon in Chhattisgarh is currently weak, leading to a halt in rain for the past two days. This has resulted in humid heat affecting residents.

The Meteorological Department predicts relief from this discomfort will come in about two days, with heavy rain expected in some districts of the Surguja division.

Recent Weather and Forecast

On Tuesday night, the weather shifted, and several areas, including Raipur, experienced rain with thunder and lightning.

This rainfall significantly reduced the humidity. The Meteorological Department forecasts heavy rainfall in parts of the Surguja division over the next five days.

From August 23, rainfall activity is expected to increase across Chhattisgarh. On Tuesday, the highest rainfall of 6 cm was recorded in Tamnar, Raigarh district, while light to moderate rain was observed in other areas.

Raipur saw normal weather conditions with increased humidity due to a lack of rain and sunshine.

The maximum temperature reached 33.3°C, which is 3.2°C above normal, and the minimum was 26.5°C, 2.2°C above normal.

Weather System Developing

Meteorologist HP Chandra reported a low-pressure area over central Bangladesh, with cyclonic circulation extending up to 7.6 km in height.

This system is expected to move northwest over the next 48 hours.

As a result, light to moderate rainfall is anticipated in many areas on Wednesday. Rainfall activity is predicted to increase in the state from August 23.
