Google has introduced the second generation of its artificial intelligence model, Gemini. CEO Sundar Pichai described it as part of the “New Agentic Era” in technology.
The update brings advanced features and improvements to Google’s AI tools, making it more capable and intelligent than before.
Key Updates in Gemini 2.0
Google claims that Gemini 2.0 has enhanced problem-solving abilities. According to Sundar Pichai, this AI tool is designed to think several steps ahead
and can work independently while staying under the user’s control. The system is now more proactive and smarter, providing a better experience for users.
Improved Features in Gemini 2.0
The new Gemini model includes a “flash model,” which enhances its image and audio processing capabilities.
Users will have access to additional tools, making tasks easier and more efficient.
Integration Across Google Platforms
Gemini 2.0 is being integrated into popular Google platforms like Search, Android, and YouTube. For example, the AI Overview in Search offers summaries with audio
and images, making it easier for users to understand information. With over 2 billion users on each platform, this integration gives Google a significant advantage over competitors.
Future Plans: Project Astra and Mariner
Google plans to incorporate Project Astra into Gemini. This feature will use a phone’s camera to provide real-time information in various languages, integrating with Maps
and Google Lens. The technology is also being tested in Google’s smart AI glasses.
Additionally, Google is developing Project Mariner, a Chrome extension that automates keystrokes and mouse clicks.
This tool aims to enhance productivity and compete with similar offerings from companies like Anthropic.
