Instagram AI Assistant is coming to Meta’s Edits app to help creators understand how their content is performing and get personalised suggestions.

The tool uses data from a creator’s Instagram account to provide insights about videos and audience engagement.

Creating social media videos involves more than recording and editing. Views, watch time, likes, shares and audience response can all help creators understand which types of content are working.

Instagram AI Assistant Analyses Creator Data

The new AI assistant can analyse information such as an account’s following, video views, retention, likes and shares. It can also consider Instagram trends and the preferences of a creator’s audience.

By looking at content performance over time, the AI can identify patterns that may not be immediately clear from individual statistics. This can help creators better understand how their audience responds to different types of content.

What Creators Can Ask the AI

Creators can ask the assistant why a particular video performed well or why another video did not get the expected response. They can also ask which types of content have connected most with their audience.

The tool can provide suggestions for content ideas, opening hooks, captions, trending audio and video scripts. Creators can also ask about current trends on Instagram.

Meta Built the Tool With Creators

Meta worked with creators while developing the AI assistant. According to the company, creators wanted a tool that could understand and analyse the data behind their content rather than simply generate everything for them.

The AI therefore focuses on analysing the performance of videos and posts and providing suggestions. Creators remain responsible for deciding which changes to make and how they want to develop their content.

AI Features Will Have Usage Limits

The new AI feature in Edits will initially be available to creators at no cost, but its usage will be limited. Meta plans to provide additional usage for heavy users through a Meta One subscription.

The feature is designed to give creators another way to study their Instagram performance and make content decisions using account-specific data rather than relying only on general social media trends.
