Fire TV Stick 4K gets new features with Amazon’s latest streaming device, which retains the slim stick design while adding 4K picture quality. The device can also draw power directly from a TV’s USB port.
Alongside the new streaming stick, Amazon has introduced a redesigned Fire TV Remote. The company is also preparing a more premium Fire TV Remote Plus, which is expected to arrive in 2027.
Fire TV Stick 4K Gets New Features
The new Fire TV Stick 4K connects to a television through its HDMI port and comes in the same slim stick-style design. Amazon says it is faster than the previous Fire TV Stick 4K Select.
Another useful change is USB power support, allowing the streaming stick to be powered directly from a compatible TV’s USB port.
Amazon has also announced a price reduction for Prime members during its Prime Thanksgiving Sale. The sale begins on October 13 and includes an Early Access Sale.
New Fire TV Remote Design
Amazon has redesigned the Fire TV Remote with a flat front, slightly curved back and rounded edges. The company says its lower centre of gravity is designed to make the remote feel more natural in the hand.
The home button on the new remote uses recycled aluminium. The remote also gets a Custom Button, a feature that was previously available on the premium Alexa Voice Remote Pro.
The new Fire TV Stick 4K will come with the new Fire TV Remote. Pre-booking for the remote has already started, while shipping is expected to begin on October 22.
Fire TV Remote Plus Coming in 2027
Amazon is also planning to launch the Fire TV Remote Plus in 2027. It will include the standard Fire TV remote features along with backlit buttons and a premium aluminium body.
The premium remote will also offer a Find My Remote feature. When a user says “find my remote” through an Alexa-enabled device, the remote will make a sound to help locate it.
The new Fire TV Stick 4K and updated remote show how Amazon is expanding its streaming device lineup beyond basic video playback, with new convenience features built into both the stick and remote.
