How to Activate the Secret Code Feature
Gadgets 360 conducted a test on the beta version of the WhatsApp app for Android smartphones, revealing a straightforward process to activate the Secret Code feature.
Users can navigate to the list of locked chats, tap on the three-dot menu at the top, access Chat Lock settings, toggle to hide locked chats, and enter a memorable secret code.
Once completed, the locked chats will be concealed from the main chat window.
Enhanced Security Measures
WhatsApp users can employ various security measures, including their phone’s PIN, passcode, facial recognition, or fingerprint scanning, in addition to the new Secret Code feature.
Furthermore, swiping down on the chat screen will reveal a shortcut to WhatsApp locked chats, accessible through fingerprint or Face ID verification.
Viewing Locked Chats
To view or show locked chats after setting a secret code, users must enter the same code in the search bar on the app.
This action temporarily reveals the protected chats until the app is closed. If users wish to disable the secret code feature and return to normal chat visibility, they can do so through the chat lock settings.
