India’s love for electric cars is growing fast.

And now, Tata Motors is ready to refresh its most affordable electric SUV — the Punch EV.

This will be the first major update of the Punch EV.

While the changes may not look dramatic at first glance, several design tweaks, feature upgrades, and a possible bigger battery could make a real difference.

Here’s what to expect.

A Fresh and Sharper New Look

Tata Motors has already teased the updated model, and the front design looks cleaner and more modern.

The black strip that earlier connected the headlamps has been removed.

This makes the front less bulky and more refined. The closed grille has also been redesigned.

The slim DRLs remain sharp, and the headlamps are still positioned lower on the bumper.

A redesigned lower bumper, sharper body lines, and a new skid plate give the SUV a tougher and more rugged feel.

At the rear, the biggest highlight is the new connected LED tail lamps.

These stretch across the tailgate and give the car a wider, more premium appearance.

New colour options like bright yellow and copper-brown are also expected.

Overall, the SUV keeps its identity but looks fresher and more youthful.

Interior Updates: Subtle but Smart

Big changes inside the cabin are unlikely.

However, feature upgrades are expected.

Top variants may get a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

The existing 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster is likely to continue.

Other expected features include:

Ventilated seats

Wireless charging

Ambient lighting

Connected car technology

360-degree camera

There could also be some additions to the safety package.

Bigger Battery, Better Range?

Currently, the Punch EV comes with two battery options — 25 kWh and 35 kWh — offering a claimed range between 265 km and 365 km.

However, Tata Motors has hinted at a larger battery option.

If introduced, this could improve the real-world driving range, which is a key factor for EV buyers.

Pricing may see a slight increase from the current ₹9.99 lakh to ₹14.44 lakh (ex-showroom).

Once launched, the updated Punch EV will compete directly with models like the Citroen eC3.

For buyers looking for an affordable electric SUV with improved range and modern features, this update could make the Punch EV even more appealing.
