Renault has introduced a new turbo-powered version of its popular 7-seater MPV, the Renault Triber, in India. The new Renault Triber Turbo comes with a more powerful petrol engine while retaining the practical 7-seat layout.
The starting ex-showroom price of the Renault Triber Turbo is ₹7.84 lakh, while the top variant is priced at ₹8.99 lakh. The company claims that the new MPV can deliver mileage of up to 21 kmpl.
Renault Triber Turbo Engine
The Renault Triber Turbo is powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder HR10 turbo petrol engine. The same engine is also used in models such as the Renault Kiger and Duster, but the engine management system has been tuned differently for the Triber Turbo.
The engine produces 100 hp of power and 180 Nm of peak torque. Renault claims that the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 10.8 seconds.
At launch, the Triber Turbo is available with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The company may introduce a CVT automatic option for the car in the future.
Renault Triber Turbo Price
The Renault Triber Turbo starts at ₹7.84 lakh ex-showroom. The price goes up to ₹8.99 lakh for the top-spec variant.
Compared with the regular petrol version, the turbo variants are priced around ₹94,000 to ₹1.11 lakh higher, depending on the variant.
Exterior Design
The overall exterior design of the Renault Triber Turbo remains similar to the regular Triber. However, the new model gets some specific styling elements.
It features a gloss-black grille, new Renault branding, LED headlamps and LED daytime running lights. At the rear, the car gets LED taillamps and a TURBO badge.
The MPV also comes with 15-inch dual-tone wheel covers and functional roof rails.
Features Inside the Cabin
The Renault Triber Turbo comes with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Other features include a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, automatic climate control, rear blower controls, cruise control and push-button start/stop.
With the third-row seats folded, the MPV offers up to 625 litres of boot space, making it practical for families and long journeys.
Safety Features
Renault has equipped the Triber Turbo with several safety features. These include six airbags, ABS, EBD, electronic stability programme, traction control, hill-start assist and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
The car also gets ISOFIX child-seat mounts. Renault has tuned the ABS, ESC and traction control systems according to the requirements of the turbocharged engine.
