There is good news for fresher engineers planning a career in the IT sector. Software giant Infosys has increased its entry-level salary packages, offering annual pay of up to ₹21 lakh for certain specialized technology roles.

According to a report by Moneycontrol, this move is aimed at strengthening Infosys’ AI-first strategy. With this revision, Infosys is now offering the highest entry-level salary among IT companies in India for fresh graduates.

Off-Campus Hiring Drive in 2025

As per the report, Infosys will conduct an off-campus hiring drive in 2025 for engineering and computer science graduates.

The company will recruit candidates for specialized technology roles such as Specialist Programmers (L1 to L3) and Digital Specialist Engineers (Trainees).

These roles are open to graduates with BE, BTech, ME, MTech, MCA, and Integrated MSc degrees. Eligible branches include Computer Science, IT, and selected streams like ECE and EEE.

Salary Details for Different Roles

Infosys is offering different salary packages based on job roles:

Specialist Programmer L3 (Trainee): Up to ₹21 lakh per annum

Specialist Programmer L2 (Trainee): ₹16 lakh per annum

Specialist Programmer L1 (Trainee): ₹11 lakh per annum

Digital Specialist Engineer (Trainee): ₹7 lakh per annum

Infosys Group CHRO Shaji Mathew said the company is adopting an AI-first approach across all service lines. This has increased the need to upskill existing employees and hire digitally skilled freshers with specialized expertise.

12,000 Freshers Already Hired

Shaji Mathew also explained that Infosys hires early-career professionals through both campus and off-campus channels.

The company has expanded opportunities under the Specialist Programmer track, where salaries go up to ₹21 lakh per year.

While low entry-level salaries in IT firms have often been criticized, Infosys seems to be addressing this issue.

So far, Infosys has hired 12,000 freshers in the first half of FY26 and is on track to meet its goal of hiring 20,000 freshers this year.
