A trial run began on Wednesday for the Bandikui-Jaipur Link Expressway, which connects the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway to Jaipur.
This new expressway will reduce the Jaipur to Delhi travel time to just 2.5 to 3 hours.
Bandikui-Jaipur Expressway Trial Run Starts, Cutting Travel Time
The trial started at 8 a.m. No toll will be collected during the 10-day trial period.
The trial phase includes quality checks and facility testing to find and fix any issues before toll collection officially starts.
The expressway opened to traffic on the first day of the trial.
The Khuri Interchange is now active and is handling traffic from the Manoharpur-Kauthun Highway.
If the trial goes well, more traffic from other interchanges will be allowed on the expressway in the next day or two.
The expressway is four lanes wide, 67 km long, and access-controlled, running from Bandikui in Dausa district to Jaipur in Rajasthan.
The construction work was completed ahead of time.
Vehicles can travel on this road at speeds of up to 120 km/h.
Once fully open, travel between Bandikui and Jaipur will take only 25–30 minutes, instead of over an hour.
This time saving will also reduce the total travel time from Jaipur to Delhi.
Travel time from Gurugram to Bandikui will also drop to just three hours, thanks to this expressway’s link with the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.
The expressway connects to several major roads, including the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and the Manoharpur-Kauthun Highway via Khuri Interchange. More interchanges will open depending on how the trial goes.
“All toll collection preparations are ready. We’ll begin toll operations once we get approval from higher authorities,” said B.S. Joiya, Project Director, NHAI Dausa Unit.
According to NHAI officials, the 66.91-km Bandikui-Jaipur Expressway has been built at a cost of ₹1,368 crore.
During the trial, all vehicles except tractors, motorcycles, and other restricted types are allowed to use the road without any problems.
Proposed toll rates for private cars are:
₹150 for the Jaipur–Bandikui section (66.91 km),
₹550–₹560 for the Jaipur–Bandikui–Sohna route,
₹130 for the Sohna–Gurugram six-lane highway,
₹680–₹690 in total from Jaipur to Delhi.
The expressway is expected to greatly reduce travel time once it becomes fully operational.
