The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has made a big move to strengthen its relationship with India by expanding its visa-on-arrival facility for Indian passport holders.
From February 13, 2025, Indian citizens who have valid residence permits from six more countries—Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, and Singapore—can get a visa on arrival at any UAE entry point.
Stronger India-UAE Relations
The UAE Embassy in New Delhi called this update an important step in boosting ties between the two countries.
It highlights the growing friendship between India and the UAE, who are already close partners in trade, tourism, and investment.
Earlier, Indian citizens with valid visas or residence permits from the US, UK, or EU were already eligible for a UAE visa on arrival. This new rule just adds to that list and gives more people access.
More Convenience for Indian Travelers
This change will make travel easier for many Indians—whether they’re going to the UAE for business, tourism, studies, or to meet family.
The process now has less paperwork and faster entry, making it more convenient for professionals, students, and families alike.
UAE Ambassador to India Abdulnasser Alshaali said this move reflects the strong partnership between the countries and will help people stay connected, grow businesses, and collaborate professionally.
Positive Impact on Trade and Tourism
India is one of the UAE’s most important partners. Over 3.5 million Indians live and work in the UAE, and the annual trade value crosses USD 85 billion.
This visa expansion is expected to bring even more growth in areas like tourism, education, real estate, and jobs.
Experts believe this will make travel smoother and help create deeper ties between businesspeople, students, and investors in both nations.
Looking Ahead: A More Connected Future
The UAE aims to become a global hub that welcomes skilled professionals and promotes international partnerships.
For India, this means greater global access for its large community of overseas residents and workers.
By opening up more to Indian travelers, the UAE is showing that it supports connectivity, cooperation, and shared progress for both countries.
