Reason Behind the Price Increase
Maruti Suzuki explained that the decision to raise prices was due to increasing input and operating costs. As a result, the company has no choice but to pass on some of the additional expenses to the customers. However, Maruti has also emphasized that it is committed to minimizing the impact on buyers by optimizing its costs.
Maruti Suzuki’s Strong Sales Performance
Despite the price hike, Maruti Suzuki remains the top-selling car brand in India. In December 2024, the company sold 1,78,248 units, marking a 30% increase compared to the previous year. This includes 1,32,523 units sold in the domestic market, 37,419 units exported, and 8,306 units sold to other OEMs.
