Cold Weather Expected in Next Two Days

The weather has shifted significantly across the country, including Delhi NCR, with snowfall starting in mountainous regions.

This change is impacting the plains as well. Delhi NCR experienced its first rain of the season on Sunday evening, which led to an increase in cold emperatures.

The Meteorological Department predicts that the minimum temperature in North India, including Delhi, may drop to around 6 degrees Celsius in the coming days.

This rain, which occurred on December 8, has intensified the winter chill in the capital.

The Western Disturbance is causing snowfall in the mountains and light rain in the plains, which is contributing to a continuous drop in temperatures.

Temperature Drops in Delhi, Noida, and Other Regions

In Delhi, the minimum temperature has fallen to around 7 degrees Celsius in some areas, while Noida recorded temperatures between 7 and 8 degrees Celsius.

Fog and falling mercury levels are expected to make the cold more severe.

Jharkhand experienced cloudy skies and light rain on Monday, which temporarily increased the minimum temperature by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius.

However, Ranchi Meteorological Center predicts clear weather from Tuesday with light to moderate fog in the mornings and a 4 to 5-degree Celsius drop in minimum temperature over the next three days.

In Himachal Pradesh, Shimla and nearby tourist spots like Kufri and Faag witnessed their first snowfall of the season.

High-altitude areas like Lahaul and Spiti received intermittent snowfall, intensifying the cold in nearby valleys.

Roads in Lahaul were covered with snow, making them slippery and affecting traffic.

The Meteorological Department forecasts light rain and snowfall in mid- and high-altitude mountain areas on Tuesday.

Gradual Temperature Drop Expected in Several States

Over the next three days, temperatures in many parts of the country are expected to drop by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius.

In Rajasthan, both maximum and minimum temperatures have fallen due to northern winds. For example, in Bikaner

and Sri Ganganagar, maximum temperatures have dropped by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius.

The Jaipur Meteorological Center has also warned of a possible cold wave in parts of the state, with the cold expected to intensify starting Tuesday.
