As per Wabetainfo’s report, some people trying out early versions (beta testers) have begun receiving the new Secret Code feature in the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.24.20 update.

How will the Secret Code feature work?
In the picture, you can notice that WhatsApp users will see a new chat lock option in the settings.
Within these settings, there are two choices: Hide Locked Chats and Secret Code.
When you turn on Hide Lock Chat, chats with a secret code will disappear from your chat window. To see these chats, you need to put in a secret code.
Type the secret code in the search bar at the top of the chat, and then you can see all the hidden chats.
This new privacy feature gives users more privacy. It’s helpful when someone else knows your WhatsApp PIN.
With this feature, you can hide some of your private chats from them using the new secret code.
