Jio has announced a special treat for devotees embarking on the revered Chardham pilgrimage, encompassing Kedarnath, Badrinath, Yamunotri, and Gangotri.
The telecom giant promises its True 5G network will be accessible to pilgrims at all these sacred sites.
Last year, Jio made history by being the first operator to introduce 5G network coverage across all Chardham temple premises.
Additionally, Jio assures that its 5G network will extend to areas surrounding the Chardham, including Haridwar, Rishikesh, Devprayag, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag, Chamoli-Gopeshwar, and other locales.
Expanded Connectivity Along the Pilgrimage Route
Through a press release, Jio has announced seamless 5G connectivity for pilgrims visiting Kedarnath, Badrinath, Yamunotri, and Gangotri.
Last year, the company pioneered 5G coverage within temple premises, a milestone achievement.
Jio emphasizes that its True 5G network is accessible in numerous areas along the pilgrimage route,
such as Haridwar, Rishikesh, Devprayag, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag, Chamoli-Gopeshwar, Joshimath, Ukhimath, Guptkashi, Uttarkashi, Barkot, and Tehri.
The network expansion includes both 4G and 5G towers strategically positioned to ensure comprehensive coverage.
Moreover, Jio leverages the special 700 MHz band to bolster its 5G network reach.
Seamless Connectivity for Pilgrims
Jio’s rapid expansion of its True 5G network over the past year has been remarkable.
Pilgrims equipped with 5G-enabled devices within the True 5G network’s range can enjoy high-speed data transmission, reaching up to 1000 Mbps, at no additional cost.
Last year witnessed Jio’s network coverage extending across Uttarakhand, from the capital Dehradun to the remote village of Mana near the India-Tibet border.
Furthermore, Jio’s 5G network currently serves pilgrims at Sri Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara, situated at an altitude of 13,650 meters.
