The Department of Posts has signed a major agreement with Flipkart India to improve parcel delivery services across the country.
The partnership is expected to strengthen India’s e-commerce logistics network and make deliveries faster and more reliable, especially in remote locations.
Flipkart to Use India Post’s Massive Delivery Network
The agreement was signed in Delhi on Friday. Under this partnership, India Post will handle last-mile delivery for Flipkart orders across the country.
With more than 1.6 lakh post offices, India Post has one of the largest delivery networks in the world.
Flipkart will use this extensive reach to improve deliveries in cities, towns, villages, and hard-to-reach areas where logistics can often be challenging.
What Customers Can Expect
The partnership includes several features designed to improve the delivery experience for customers.
India Post will deliver both prepaid and cash-on-delivery (COD) orders. Customers will also benefit from OTP-based delivery verification for added security and real-time shipment tracking to monitor their parcels.
The companies also plan to improve technology integration and operational coordination, helping parcels move more quickly and efficiently across the country.
Better Reach for India’s Growing E-commerce Market
By using India Post’s nationwide network, Flipkart aims to expand its market reach and improve distribution efficiency.
The collaboration is expected to provide better delivery services in rural and underserved regions while strengthening the logistics infrastructure needed to support India’s fast-growing e-commerce sector.
Amazon Already Has a Similar Partnership
Flipkart is not the first major e-commerce company to work with India Post. In October 2024, Amazon India signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Posts to strengthen logistics
and improve deliveries in remote parts of the country.
With Flipkart now joining hands with India Post, customers across India can expect wider delivery coverage and a smoother online shopping experience.
