UTI Mutual Fund has launched a new feature that allows investors to complete mutual fund payments directly on WhatsApp.

With this update, users no longer need to open a separate app or website to make payments, making the investment process much quicker and simpler.

One of the biggest issues with online payments is that users are often redirected to a bank or payment gateway page.

This extra step can lead to failed or incomplete transactions because of network or technical problems. To solve this, UTI Mutual Fund has introduced UPI and one-time payment options that work entirely within WhatsApp.

Three Companies Power the New Service

The new payment system has been developed through a partnership between three major companies.

CAMSPay is handling the payment processing, Gupshup is providing the conversation platform, and Meta’s WhatsApp serves as the main channel for investors.

Together, they aim to offer a smooth, secure, and hassle-free payment experience without leaving the chat.

A Step Towards Easier Investing

Peshotan Dastur, Group President and Head of Sales, Product and Digital at UTI AMC, said the company wants to make investing faster and more convenient for every Indian.

He added that bringing investment services to a platform people use daily is an important step toward improving the customer experience.

No More Payment Drop-Offs

According to Vasant Jeyapaul, CEO of CAMSPay, many customers abandoned payments when they were redirected to external payment pages.

By enabling one-time and recurring payments directly inside WhatsApp, that problem has been largely eliminated.

Gaurav Kachwaha, Chief Product Officer at Gupshup, also said that conversation-based platforms like WhatsApp are expected to play a major role in the future of digital financial services, making transactions faster and more user-friendly.
