J&K Bank FD rates have been revised for senior citizens and super senior citizens, with eligible depositors aged 60 years and above able to earn up to 7.25% interest per annum.

Customers aged 80 years and above can receive up to 7.50% on selected fixed deposit tenures, offering an option for those seeking relatively predictable returns on their savings.

The revised interest rates came into effect on October 8, 2026, and apply to callable domestic term deposits below Rs 3 crore.

The rates vary according to the deposit period, so customers should compare different tenures before investing or renewing an existing fixed deposit.

J&K Bank FD Rates for Senior Citizens

Under the revised J&K Bank FD rates, customers aged 60 years and above can earn interest ranging from 4% to 7.25% per annum, depending on the maturity period.

The highest rate of 7.25% is available on deposits with a tenure of 888 days and deposits ranging from five years to 10 years.

Deposits with shorter maturities offer lower returns. For example, fixed deposits with tenures of seven to 30 days carry an interest rate of 4%, while deposits from 31 to 45 days offer 4.25%.

Customers investing for longer periods can access higher rates.

Deposits with a tenure of one year to less than 18 months offer 7.05%, while those from 18 months to less than two years carry a rate of 7.15%.

For deposits of two years to 887 days, the interest rate is 7.20%.

The same rate applies to deposits ranging from 889 days to less than three years and those with maturities between three and five years.

The revised rates give senior citizens several options depending on when they may need their money. However, the highest interest rate is available only for specific tenures rather than across all fixed deposit periods.

J&K Bank FD Rates for Super Senior Citizens

J&K Bank is offering higher interest rates to super senior citizens aged 80 years and above.

This category can earn up to 7.50% per annum on deposits of 888 days and fixed deposits with maturities ranging from five years to 10 years.

For shorter tenures, deposits of seven to 30 days offer 4.25%, while those between 31 and 45 days carry an interest rate of 4.50%. Deposits with maturities ranging from 46 to 90 days offer 5.75%.

The rate increases to 6.25% for deposits of 91 to 180 days and 6.65% for deposits of 181 to 270 days. Fixed deposits with tenures of 271 days to less than one year offer 6.75%.

For deposits of one year to less than 18 months, super senior citizens can earn 7.30%. The rate rises to 7.40% for deposits of 18 months to less than two years and 7.45% for deposits of two years to 887 days.

Deposits from 889 days to less than three years and those between three and five years offer 7.45%. The highest rate of 7.50% is available on the specified 888-day and five-to-10-year deposits.

The additional interest benefit can help eligible customers earn more than the rates available to regular senior citizens on comparable deposit periods.

What Should Senior Citizens Check Before Investing?

Before opening a fixed deposit, customers should consider both the interest rate and the period for which their money will remain invested.

A longer tenure may offer a higher return, but it can also limit access to savings that may be required for household expenses or emergencies.

Depositors should also check the bank’s conditions for premature withdrawal.

Withdrawing money before maturity may affect the interest earned and could involve applicable penalties under the bank’s rules.

The revised rates apply to callable domestic term deposits below Rs 3 crore.

Customers should verify the applicable rate for their chosen tenure with the bank before placing a deposit, as interest rates can change over time.

How the Revised FD Rates Affect Retirees

Fixed deposits remain an option for people who prefer returns linked to a stated interest rate rather than the fluctuations associated with market-linked investments.

For retirees, the choice of tenure can be particularly important when balancing regular expenses with longer-term savings.

The latest J&K Bank FD rates allow eligible senior and super senior citizens to compare several maturity options, with the highest advertised rates reserved for specific tenures.

The final return will depend on the amount deposited, the selected period and the applicable terms.

Senior citizens should assess their liquidity needs before locking in savings for several years.

Comparing the bank’s current rates and withdrawal conditions can help them choose a deposit that fits their financial requirements.
