Upcoming Event in Jharkhand
On September 15, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the first installment of PMAY for rural beneficiaries in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.
During this event, 26 lakh beneficiaries will also receive their Griha Pravesh, marking their official move into their new homes.
Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan announced this information in an online meeting with state rural development ministers.
Significant Financial Support and Goals
Prime Minister Modi will release Rs 2,745 crore as the first installment under PMAY.
The Rural Development Ministry has also planned for Modi to interact with the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G).
The program in Jharkhand will issue the first installment to approximately 10 lakh beneficiaries and distribute acceptance letters for the financial year 2024-25.
Aiming to build 2.95 crore houses by March 2024, the scheme has already completed 2.65 crore houses.
Housewarming and Updated Guidelines
Shivraj Singh Chauhan revealed that 26 lakh houses constructed in the fiscal years 2023-24 and 2024-25 will have their housewarming ceremonies on the same day.
The scheme has been streamlined to ensure accessibility for everyone, including those with bikes, fishing boats, and refrigerators.
Moreover, the monthly income limit for eligibility has been increased from Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000. Unnecessary conditions have been removed to better meet the housing for all goal.
To benefit from this scheme, applicants need to provide an Aadhar Card, Voter ID Card, PAN Card,
Caste Certificate, Income Certificate, Age Certificate, Ration Card, Mobile Number, Bank Account Details, and a Passport Size Photo.
