Railways Launch OTP Lockers at Delhi railway stations, giving passengers a new way to store luggage securely for a few hours without carrying their bags around.
The self-operated lockers are available around the clock at selected stations.
The facility has currently been introduced at New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway stations. Lockers are also planned for Delhi Junction and Anand Vihar Terminal, expanding the service to more major stations in the capital.
Railways Launch OTP Lockers for Passengers
The digital lockers use mobile-number verification and a One-Time Password for access. Passengers can choose an available locker, select the required storage duration and complete the payment digitally.
The service is particularly useful for passengers with long waiting periods, early arrivals or layovers who want to visit nearby places without carrying heavy luggage.
How to Use the Digital Lockers
Passengers first enter their mobile number on the locker system and verify it using the OTP received on their phone. They can then select the locker size and duration according to their requirement.
After selecting the locker, payment can be made digitally through options such as Google Pay, PhonePe or Paytm.
Once the luggage is placed inside, the locker can be accessed using the authentication details provided during the booking process.
Delhi Railway Locker Charges
The current charges are ₹60 for up to 6 hours, ₹130 for up to 12 hours and ₹160 for up to 24 hours.
The facility is designed as a self-service option, allowing passengers to deposit and collect their belongings without depending on a traditional counter.
The lockers operate 24 hours, making them useful for passengers arriving at the station at different times of the day or night.
Where the Lockers Are Available
At New Delhi railway station, the lockers are located near Platform 16. At Hazrat Nizamuddin station, the facility is situated close to the staircase.
Delhi Junction and Anand Vihar Terminal are among the stations where the service is expected to be introduced next.
The new facility gives passengers another option for temporary luggage storage while travelling through Delhi. It can be especially useful for tourists and passengers who have several hours between trains.
