The Madhya Pradesh state government has approved Dearness Relief for its pensioners.
Those on the seventh pay scale will receive a 50% increase in their pension, while those on the sixth pay scale will receive a 239% increase.
This relief applies to pensions for superannuation, retirement, disability, and compensation, as well as for compassionate allowances granted to employees who were dismissed or terminated.
Family pensioners and those receiving extraordinary pensions will also get the relief according to the Finance Department’s rules dated 5th October 1976.
However, if someone has been employed on compassionate grounds after the death of their spouse, they will not receive Dearness Relief on the family pension.
But if the spouse was employed at the time of their death, the family pension will be eligible for the relief.
All pension distribution officers in Chhattisgarh have been instructed to ensure timely payment of the approved Dearness Allowance to Madhya Pradesh’s civil pensioners, in accordance with the Madhya Pradesh Treasury Code 2020.
The Pension Director has also been directed to conduct sample checks at bank branches, and any discrepancies found will be adjusted in the next month’s payments.
