Buying a new Apple device has become more expensive after the company recently increased prices across several products, including MacBooks, iPads, HomePods, and other Mac models.
Apple said rising manufacturing costs, supply chain challenges, and memory shortages forced the company to raise prices.
To make its products more affordable, Apple has now introduced a new leasing program called Apple Upgrade. Instead of paying the full price upfront, customers can use eligible Apple devices by paying a monthly lease amount.
Apple Upgrade Program Offers Monthly Payment Option
Apple has partnered with consumer finance company Klarna to launch the Apple Upgrade program in the US.
Under this program, customers can lease selected Apple devices for 12, 24, or 36 months, depending on the product. The service currently covers the latest iPhone models, Apple Watches, Mac computers, and iPads.
Apple says users can choose to upgrade to a newer device, buy the leased device with a final payment, or simply return it when the lease ends.
Monthly Lease Prices for Apple Devices
The new iPhone 17, iPhone 17e, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max are available at an introductory lease starting from $17.99 (around ₹1,720) per month.
The Apple Watch Series 11 and Apple Watch Ultra 3 can be leased from $11.99 (around ₹1,148) per month.
For Mac users, the program includes:
MacBook Air with the M5 chip
MacBook Pro with M5, M5 Pro, and M5 Max processors
iMac with the M4 chip
Mac Studio with M4 Max and M3 Ultra processors
Mac leases start from $24.99 (around ₹2,400) per month.
The program also covers iPad Air, iPad mini, and iPad Pro, with lease prices starting from $11.99 (around ₹1,148) per month.
Trade-In and Cashback Benefits
Customers can lower their monthly lease payments by trading in an eligible old Apple device through the Apple Trade-In program.
Those who pay their lease installments using the Apple Card can also earn 3% Daily Cash Back.
Apple says every application goes through a soft credit check, which does not affect the customer’s credit score. Once approved, customers can complete their purchase as usual.
At the end of the lease period, users can choose to upgrade to a new device, buy the current one with a one-time payment, or return it and leave the program.
