The employees at Air India, Tata Group’s main airline, will see a salary increase. Additionally, they will receive a performance bonus.
This double good news was announced by the airline company on Thursday.
You will get benefit from 1st April
PTI’s report mentions that Air India has revealed a yearly salary increase and performance bonus for its employees. As per the report, employees can expect to receive these benefits starting from April 1, 2024.
This salary raise and bonus are applicable for the financial year 2023-24, concluding on March 31, 2024.
Benefits to these employees of Air India
According to the report quoting Air India’s Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) Ravindra Kumar GP, the salary hike and bonus will be based on Air India and its employees’ performance in the last financial year.
The entire company’s employees will benefit from the salary increase, while the pilots have been announced to receive a bonus.
Tata Group is working on this plan
Air India is known as one of the leading domestic airlines. Previously under government control, it has now become part of the Tata Group.
The Tata Group is working on a 5-year plan to transform Air India, aiming to improve its performance and elevate the quality of its services to global standards.
Salary hike announced for the first time
Following its acquisition by the Tata Group in 2022, Air India is providing its employees with salary hikes and bonuses for the first time.
Air India aims to keep its current employees and bring in new talent to support its transformation plan. The decision to offer salary hikes and bonuses aligns with this goal.
Challenges faced by other group companies
Air India announced this during a period when other airlines within the group are encountering difficulties.
Some months back, Vistara, a company within the group, experienced a pilot shortage. Air India assisted by sending its pilots to help resolve the issue.
Air India Express, another airline in the group, encountered issues when a significant number of its crew members took leave simultaneously,
leading to the cancellation of numerous flights.
