New Delhi:
Honda Cars, a prominent player in the automotive industry, has made a significant move by launching the Made in India Elevate SUV in Japan.
Branded as ‘WR-V’ in the Japanese market, this marks the first instance of Honda Cars’ Indian unit exporting a vehicle to Japan.
Originally introduced internationally in September last year, with India as its debut market, the Elevate SUV has garnered notable success.
Expansion of Export Markets for Honda Cars
With over 30,000 units sold in the last six months within India, Honda Cars has expanded its export footprint beyond neighboring countries like Bhutan, Nepal, and South Africa.
Now, Japan joins the list of export destinations for the Elevate SUV, showcasing Honda’s commitment to global expansion and product quality.
Price Adjustment and Customer Response
Earlier this year, Honda Cars implemented a price increase of Rs 58,000 for the Elevate SUV, marking its first price adjustment since launch.
Despite the hike, customer response remains strong, with the Elevate SUV continuing to attract attention.
Featuring a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder DOHC i-VTEC petrol engine, the Elevate SUV offers robust performance and modern amenities,
including a 10.25-inch LCD infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and wireless charging capability.
Elevate SUV’s Market Performance
Honda Cars reports that the Elevate SUV has accounted for over 50 percent of its total sales in the last three months, with the CVT variant particularly in high demand.
Positioned to compete with leading models such as Hyundai’s Creta, Kia’s Seltos, and Maruti Suzuki’s Grand Vitara,
the Elevate SUV stands out for its locally sourced components, manufactured at Honda’s factory in Tapukara, Rajasthan.
With a wide array of color options and transmission choices, the Elevate SUV offers versatility and style to discerning customers.
