What Should FD Investors Consider?
The revised rates may make selected fixed deposit tenures more attractive, especially for senior citizens who prefer predictable returns on their savings.
However, investors should compare interest rates across different tenures before opening a deposit.
Choosing a longer tenure only because it offers a higher rate may not be suitable for someone who needs access to their money earlier.
Fixed deposits generally offer returns at a predetermined interest rate for the selected period.
Depending on the deposit terms, customers can choose different interest payout options, including periodic payouts or cumulative deposits.
Investors should also check premature withdrawal conditions, applicable penalties and tax implications before making a decision.
The revised HDFC Bank FD rates provide an opportunity for depositors to reassess their investment choices, with senior citizens eligible for returns of up to 7.20% on qualifying deposits.
