Maruti Celerio price hike has made three petrol variants of the affordable hatchback costlier by ₹2,500. According to a report by CarWale, the increase applies to the VXi, ZXi and ZXi Plus petrol variants.
The base LXi petrol variant has not received a price increase. The CNG version of the Celerio has also been kept unchanged, offering some relief to buyers considering the more fuel-efficient option.
Maruti Celerio Price Hike Details
The Celerio is powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder K10C petrol engine that produces 66 bhp and 89 Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT gearbox.
According to the company, the petrol AMT version offers a claimed mileage of up to 26 kmpl. The CNG version uses the same engine but produces 56 bhp and 82 Nm of torque.
The CNG model is available only with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Maruti Suzuki claims a mileage of 34.43 km/kg for this version.
Celerio Safety and Key Features
The Celerio has also undergone Global NCAP safety testing. The six-airbag version received a 3-star rating for adult occupant protection in the test.
The combination of a compact design, petrol and CNG powertrain options, and manual and AMT transmission choices has helped the Celerio remain part of Maruti Suzuki’s hatchback lineup.
Alto K10 Also Gets a ₹2,500 Price Increase
The price increase is not limited to the Celerio. Maruti Suzuki has also raised prices of selected Alto K10 variants by ₹2,500.
The affected variants include the VXi (O) petrol manual, LXi (O) CNG, VXi (O) petrol automatic and VXi (O) CNG versions.
The Alto K10 uses a 1.0-litre K-Series dual-jet, dual-VVT petrol engine. Its claimed mileage is 24.39 kmpl with the manual gearbox and 24.90 kmpl with the automatic version, while the CNG model offers a claimed 33.85 km/kg.
Maruti Suzuki Preparing New Models
Maruti Suzuki is also preparing updates to its product portfolio. The company is expected to introduce a 7-seater version of the Grand Vitara, internally codenamed Y17, in 2027.
The upcoming Grand Vitara-based model is expected to offer both 6- and 7-seater configurations. Its expected price range is ₹13 lakh to ₹23 lakh, while major powertrain changes are not expected based on the information provided.
The Ertiga facelift is expected to arrive between late 2026 and February 2027. Expected changes include a redesigned grille, slimmer LED headlights, new DRLs, updated bumpers and new 16-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the updated Ertiga is expected to get a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. The engine is not expected to receive a major change.
