Honda QC3 electric scooter has been launched in India as the company’s third electric two-wheeler in the country. Its ex-showroom price has been set at ₹1.35 lakh in Delhi.
The new electric scooter has been developed for daily city use and uses a fixed battery setup that differs from the battery technology used in the Activa e:. Honda QC3 comes with a claimed IDC range of up to 145km.
Honda QC3 Electric Scooter Gets 145km Range
The Honda QC3 is equipped with a 3kWh fixed battery. According to Honda, the scooter can travel up to 145km on the IDC cycle.
The scooter also offers 32 litres of under-seat storage, giving riders additional space to carry everyday luggage. The company says charging the battery from 0 to 80 percent takes around 2 hours and 40 minutes.
A full charge takes approximately four hours. Honda has not yet revealed the electric motor’s power and torque figures.
Features and Colours of Honda QC3
The QC3 gets a 5-inch TFT instrument cluster and connected features through Honda RoadSync. The scooter also comes with turn-by-turn navigation.
Honda is offering the electric scooter in four colour options. These include Matt Photon Grey Metallic, Pearl Precious White, Pearl Shallow Blue and Pearl Siren Blue.
The new model will compete in the electric scooter segment with products such as the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Ather Rizta and Vida V2.
Honda Now Has Three Electric Scooters
Honda’s electric two-wheeler portfolio in India now consists of the QC1, Activa e: and QC3. The QC1 is the most affordable model in the range, with a starting price of ₹90,708.
The QC1 gets a 1.5kWh fixed battery and has a claimed IDC range of 80km. The Activa e:, meanwhile, uses two swappable 1.5kWh batteries with a combined capacity of 3kWh and has a claimed IDC range of 102km.
The QC3 also uses a 3kWh battery, but it is a fixed battery system. Its claimed range of 145km is higher than the range quoted for the Activa e:.
Honda CB500 Also Launched in India
Alongside the new electric scooter, Honda has also launched the CB500 motorcycle in India. The starting price for the base alloy variant is ₹2.75 lakh.
The motorcycle is powered by a 501cc single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine. According to the information provided, it is expected to produce 28 bhp and 43 Nm of torque.
The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox, while a slip-and-assist clutch is offered as standard. The QC3 and CB500 give Honda new products across both electric scooter and motorcycle segments in the Indian market.
