Passengers travelling from New Delhi Railway Station should check their platform number before reaching the station.
The Railways has changed the platforms of 14 trains, including the Magadh Express, Shatabdi Express, Duronto Express and Sivaganga Express.
The new platform arrangement comes into effect from Monday. These trains will now arrive at or depart from their newly assigned platforms.
Why Have the Platforms Been Changed?
The Railways has made these changes to better manage crowds and ongoing construction work at New Delhi Railway Station. Officials want to reduce congestion and make passenger movement smoother.
The platform changes have also been made based on the number of passengers travelling on each train.
Trains carrying more passengers are being moved to longer and wider platforms, while trains with fewer passengers may use smaller platforms.
Around 5 Lakh Passengers Use the Station Daily
New Delhi Railway Station is one of the busiest railway stations in the capital. More than 400 trains operate from the station every day, and around 5 lakh passengers use it daily.
Railway authorities have been taking several steps to improve crowd management. A passenger convenience camp has also been created for people travelling with unreserved tickets, along with a separate entrance for them.
