Planning a train journey through Palasa after October 15? There is an important update you should know.
South Coast Railway has announced revised timings for 14 trains passing through Palasa.
The new timings will come into effect from October 15, 2026, although the exact date varies from train to train.
Most of these trains will now reach and leave Palasa earlier than their current timings.
Two services will also have changes at Sompeta and Ichchapuram.
Bengaluru Trains Among Those Affected
Several trains travelling from Bengaluru will see noticeable changes.
Train No. 15227 SMVT Bengaluru–Muzaffarpur Weekly Express will reach Palasa at 12:26 AM and leave at 12:28 AM from October 15. It currently arrives at 12:38 AM and departs at 12:40 AM.
Train No. 18064 Yelahanka–Santragachi Weekly Express will operate at Palasa at 5:35 AM/5:37 AM from October 17, instead of 6:00 AM/6:02 AM.
Train No. 22888 SMVT Bengaluru–Howrah Weekly Express will arrive at 7:02 AM and depart at 7:04 AM from October 15, instead of 7:35 AM/7:37 AM.
Train No. 12503 SMVT Bengaluru–Agartala Bi-weekly Superfast Express will have a new Palasa timing of 7:03 AM/7:05 AM from October 20.
The same 7:03 AM/7:05 AM timing will apply to Train No. 16597 SMVT Bengaluru–Alipurduar Weekly Amrit Bharat Express from October 17 and Train No. 16523 SMVT Bengaluru–Balurghat Weekly Express from October 21.
Meanwhile, Train No. 12864 SMVT Bengaluru–Howrah Daily Superfast Express will reach Palasa at 7:38 AM and leave at 7:40 AM from October 15, replacing its current 8:10 AM/8:12 AM schedule.
More Trains to Get New Palasa Timings
Train No. 18048 Vasco Da Gama–Shalimar Amaravati Express will arrive at Palasa at 11:30 AM and depart at 11:32 AM from October 20. Its current timing is 11:43 AM/11:45 AM.
Two Bengaluru–Bhubaneswar services will also run earlier.
Train No. 12846 SMVT Bengaluru–Bhubaneswar Weekly Superfast Express will operate at 1:36 PM/1:38 PM from October 19.
Train No. 22834 SMVT Bengaluru–Bhubaneswar Weekly Express will have the same 1:36 PM/1:38 PM timing from October 15.
Both currently operate at 1:58 PM/2:00 PM.
Changes at Palasa, Sompeta and Ichchapuram
Train No. 16223 SMVT Bengaluru–Radhikapur Weekly Express will see changes at three stations from October 15.
At Palasa, the new timing will be 2:00 PM/2:02 PM.
At Sompeta, it will be 2:23 PM/2:25 PM, while at Ichchapuram it will be 2:36 PM/2:38 PM.
Train No. 18464 KSR Bengaluru–Bhubaneswar Daily Express will also have revised timings at all three stations from October 15.
Its new Palasa timing will be 2:26 PM/2:28 PM. At Sompeta, it will be 2:49 PM/2:51 PM, and at Ichchapuram, it will be 3:04 PM/3:06 PM.
Late-Night Train Timings Also Changed
Some late-night services will also reach Palasa earlier.
Train No. 22884 Yesvantpur–Puri Weekly Garib Rath Express will operate at Palasa at 11:05 PM/11:07 PM from October 17, instead of 11:26 PM/11:28 PM.
Train No. 22818 Mysuru–Howrah Weekly Superfast Express will arrive at 11:27 PM and depart at 11:28 PM from October 18. Its current timing is 11:48 PM/11:50 PM.
Check Your Train Before Leaving
The revised timings do not start on the same date for every train.
Passengers travelling on these services should therefore check the latest train schedule before starting their journey.
A change of even 20–30 minutes could matter, especially for passengers planning connections or reaching the station early in the morning or late at night.
