Booking train tickets is now easier than before. You no longer have to rely only on the IRCTC website or a separate train booking app.
Uber has introduced train ticket booking on its app through a partnership with ixigo.
With this new feature, users can book train tickets, check their PNR status, and even book an Uber ride to or from the railway station—all from one app.
Uber and ixigo Partner for Train Ticket Booking
Uber India has teamed up with ixigo to bring train ticket booking to its app. The idea is to make train travel more convenient by offering everything passengers need in one place.
Along with booking tickets, users can also check their PNR status and book a cab to the railway station or back home after the journey. This removes the need to switch between multiple apps.
According to ixigo’s Group CEO Alok Bajpai and Group Co-CEO Rajneesh Kumar, the partnership aims to make train travel simpler and more reliable by helping passengers plan their entire journey on a single platform.
How to Book Train Tickets on the Uber App
Booking a train ticket through Uber is simple. Just follow these steps:
Open the Uber app on your smartphone.
Tap on the ‘Bus and Train’ option on the home screen.
Enter your boarding station, destination, and travel date.
Browse the list of available trains.
Select your preferred train, enter passenger details, and complete the booking.
The process is similar to booking tickets on other train booking apps.
More Than Just Ticket Booking
The new feature also lets users check their PNR status directly from the Uber app.
Combined with Uber’s cab services to and from railway stations, passengers can now manage their entire train journey without leaving a single app.
This integration is designed to make travel more convenient and save users time by bringing ticket booking, PNR tracking, and station transport together in one place.
