Air India Express has announced a new direct flight between Indore and Abu Dhabi, giving travelers from Indore and nearby districts a convenient new option to reach the UAE.
The service will start from July 17, and bookings are already open.
Direct UAE Connection Returns for Indore Passengers
The new Abu Dhabi flight comes after the suspension of the Indore-Sharjah route, which has remained closed since February 28.
Although there were several announcements about restarting the Sharjah service, the flight never resumed.
Now, Air India Express has decided to launch direct flights to Abu Dhabi instead. The starting fare for the route is currently around ₹16,000.
According to Hemendra Singh Jadoun, State President of the Travel Agents Association of India, the new service will benefit travelers by removing the need to travel to Delhi or Mumbai for UAE-bound flights.
Flight Schedule and Timings
The Indore-Abu Dhabi flight will operate four days a week.
Monday, Wednesday and Friday
Departure from Indore: 7:50 PM
Arrival in Abu Dhabi: 9:35 PM (UAE time)
Sunday

Arrival in Abu Dhabi: 10:35 PM (UAE time)
For the return journey:
Monday, Wednesday and Friday
Departure from Abu Dhabi: 10:35 PM
Arrival in Indore: 3:20 AM
Sunday
Departure from Abu Dhabi: 11:35 PM
Arrival in Indore: 4:20 AM
The Sunday flight schedule is delayed by one hour compared to the other operating days.
Dubai Travelers May Face Longer Road Journey
While the new flight improves connectivity to the UAE, passengers heading to Dubai may face a longer road trip after landing.
Earlier, Indore had a direct flight to Dubai. That service was later replaced by a Sharjah flight, and now Abu Dhabi is taking its place.
The challenge is that Abu Dhabi is located much farther from Dubai than Sharjah. Travelers will need to cover around 145 km by road from Abu Dhabi to Dubai, which can take between 1.5 and 2 hours.
By comparison, Sharjah is only about 30 km from Dubai, making travel much easier and quicker for passengers. The distance between Abu Dhabi and Sharjah is also around 127 km.
Good News for UAE-Bound Travelers
Despite the longer transfer time for Dubai-bound passengers, the launch of direct Abu Dhabi flights is expected to be welcomed by many travelers in Indore and nearby regions.
The service restores direct air connectivity to the UAE and offers a more convenient travel option without requiring a stop in major cities like Delhi or Mumbai.
