Why Noida International Airport Is Important

Noida International Airport is located on the Yamuna Expressway and is expected to become a major aviation hub for western Uttar Pradesh and the National Capital Region (NCR).

According to IndiGo’s Chief Strategy Officer Aloke Singh, large metro regions in India are now growing enough to support multiple airports.

With this launch, IndiGo will now operate from all three major airports in the NCR:

Hindon Airport

Noida International Airport

The airline says this expansion will help improve affordable and hassle-free travel for passengers.

One of India’s Biggest Greenfield Airport Projects

Noida International Airport is among the largest greenfield airport projects in India.

The airport has been designed to improve both domestic and future international connectivity.

It will also have strong road and rail links connecting Delhi-NCR with western Uttar Pradesh.

The first phase of the airport has been developed at an investment of around ₹11,200 crore under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.

Initially, the airport will be able to handle:

After full development, the capacity may increase to:

7 crore passengers annually

The airport is expected to play a major role in India’s fast-growing aviation sector and infrastructure expansion.
