If you often find yourself wasting time scrolling through YouTube Shorts, there’s good news. The company has introduced a new feature that allows users to completely turn off Shorts from their feed.

Earlier, users could only set a minimum time limit of 15 minutes. But now, YouTube has updated this feature and added an option to reduce the limit to zero.

This means you can now permanently remove Shorts from your experience. The feature is currently rolling out to users.

Who Should Use This Feature?

This option is especially helpful for people who are trying to break the habit of watching Shorts.

It is also useful for parents who want to control their children’s screen time. By setting the Shorts limit to zero, Shorts will completely disappear from the feed. Instead, a pop-up message will appear saying that the time limit has been reached.

Kids Can’t Change This Setting

If you’re worried that kids might turn Shorts back on, there’s no need to worry.

Teen accounts managed through Google Family Link won’t be able to change this setting. This gives parents full control, ensuring that children cannot remove the limit on their own.

How to Turn Off YouTube Shorts

The option is available, but it is slightly hidden inside the app settings. Follow these steps:

Open the YouTube app

Tap on your profile icon

Go to Settings

Select “Time Management”

Scroll down to “Daily Shorts Feed Limit”

Turn on the toggle and select “0 minutes”
