Finding the right Aadhaar centre to update your name, address, or mobile number will no longer be difficult. To reduce people’s problems, UIDAI has partnered with Google to launch a new digital feature.

With this initiative, only authorized and verified Aadhaar centres will now appear on Google Maps. This will greatly reduce the risk of people being misled by fake centres or agents.

Official Aadhaar Database Linked to Maps

Under this system, UIDAI has connected its official database of approved Aadhaar service centres with Google Maps. This means the locations shown on the map will now match government records.

Earlier, people often reached an address shown online but found no authorized centre there, which wasted both time and money.

The new system is expected to solve the problem of wrong addresses to a large extent. This step is seen as important for improving digital public services.

How the New Feature Works

The feature is simple to use. Users just need to open Google Maps and search for nearby Aadhaar centres. The centres shown in results will clearly mention whether they are authorized or verified.

By tapping on any centre, users can see full details such as opening hours, working days, and available services. This will help people plan their visit in advance.

Aim: Stop Fraud and Increase Transparency

A major goal of this partnership is to prevent fraud. Earlier, wrong information at many locations led to scams or forced people to pay extra fees.

Now, only Aadhaar centres run by banks, post offices, or other government-approved offices will be shown on maps. This will increase transparency and trust.

Privacy and Security Fully Protected

Privacy concerns have also been addressed. This feature only shares location information. No Aadhaar number, biometric data, or personal details of any individual will be shared.

This ensures both convenience and data security for users.

Big Relief for People Across India

Every month, a large number of people visit Aadhaar centres across the country. Finding the correct location was often difficult, especially for those living in new cities or rural areas.
