BSNL, the country’s leading state-owned telecom company, has quietly reduced the validity of its most affordable Rs 99 prepaid plan.
This change has worried many low-budget users because it directly increases their monthly expenses.
Earlier, the plan offered 18 days of validity, but now it has been reduced to just 15 days.
According to a report by TelecomTalk, BSNL has made these changes without any major announcement. Here’s a detailed look at the updated plan.
What Has Changed in the Rs 99 Plan?
BSNL’s ₹99 prepaid plan used to come with 18 days of validity, but now the validity has been cut down to 15 days, while the price remains the same.
This means users will now get fewer days for the same amount, making the plan more expensive in the long run.
Benefits Before and Now
Earlier, users received unlimited calling for 18 days, but the plan did not include any data.
BSNL has now added 50MB of data, which seems like an improvement, but the speed becomes very slow once the small data limit is used up.
At the same time, the company has reduced the validity by three days, which reduces the overall benefit of the plan.
How Does This Affect Users?
Because the validity has been reduced, customers will need to recharge more frequently. With the previous 18-day validity, users needed fewer recharges throughout the year.
But now, with only 15 days of validity, the number of yearly recharges will increase, resulting in higher expenses for the user.
