The airport is designed to handle both domestic and international travelers, offering state-of-the-art facilities.

Its opening is expected to boost trade, tourism, and passenger convenience across Mumbai, Pune, and the Konkan region.

The first terminal (Terminal 1) will serve 20 million passengers. Features include:

Fastest baggage retrieval system in the world

Automated check-in kiosks and biometric verification

Spacious waiting areas and single-lane security

Advanced scanning systems for smoother travel

Passengers can expect world-class comfort and convenience, making NMIA one of India’s most advanced airports.

Mumbai Joins Global Airport Hubs

NMIA positions Mumbai alongside global cities like New York, London, and Dubai that have multiple international airports.

By 2032, NMIA and CSMIA together are expected to handle 150-160 million passengers annually.

The airport will also include:

India’s largest general aviation terminal with 75 business jet stands

Dedicated cargo terminal with 800,000 tons annual capacity

Unmatched Connectivity

NMIA is the first airport in India with direct connectivity via road, rail, and sea:

Road: Atal Setu Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link reduces travel from South Mumbai to under 40 minutes.

Metro: The Metro Gold Line (8) will connect CSMIA to NMIA, India’s first airport-to-airport metro link.

The Belapur-Pendar Metro line will extend to Ulwe.

High-Speed Rail: A station for the Mumbai-Hyderabad High-Speed Rail Corridor is planned near the airport.

Water: NMIA will be India’s first airport with water taxi services, connecting locations like Colaba in South Mumbai via a new jetty.

This new airport marks a major milestone for Mumbai, offering world-class amenities, seamless connectivity, and the potential to become a major international aviation hub.
