This new scheme, called “Buy International, Free Thailand Domestic Flights,” will make traveling across the country easier and more enjoyable.

If you buy an international ticket to Thailand, you’ll also get free domestic flights to explore beyond Bangkok and Phuket.

How the Scheme Works

The Thai government will cover the cost of domestic flight tickets.

A one-way ticket usually costs about 1,750 baht (₹4,000), while a round trip costs 3,500 baht (₹8,000).

Free flights will operate to UNESCO World Heritage cities, tourist hotspots, and different states.

The scheme will run from August to December 2025, with travel available from September to November.

Tourists from all countries, including India, can avail of this offer.

Each passenger will get 2 free domestic flights (round trip) plus 20 kg baggage allowance.

Benefits of the Scheme

Expected to attract at least 2 lakh foreign tourists.

Managed by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).

Supported by 6 airlines: Thai AirAsia, Bangkok Airways, Nok Air, Thai Airways, Thai Lion Air, and Thai VietJet.

The government expects direct revenues of 8.81 billion baht and overall economic growth of 21.80 billion baht.

Other Tourism Schemes in Thailand

Thailand has also launched the “Half-Price Thailand Travel” scheme, which allows domestic tourists to travel at discounted rates.

Slots in big cities are already fully booked, and smaller cities are expected to be booked by September.

If successful, the second phase will include even more cities.

Places to Avoid During Monsoon

Thailand, being a maritime country, faces heavy monsoon rains, which make travel risky in some areas:

Bangkok and central regions experience heavy rainfall.

Phuket and Krabi, despite being famous for beaches, face strong monsoon showers.

The Gulf of Thailand (Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao) also sees heavy rains, so it’s better to avoid them during this season.

Best Places to Visit Right Now
