Microsoft has decided to close its local office in Pakistan, ending 25 years of operations in the country. The company will now serve Pakistani customers remotely through regional hubs and authorized resellers.
Remote Service Model to Continue
In a statement to TechCrunch, Microsoft confirmed the shift and explained that this remote support model is already used in many countries.
The company assured that current customer agreements and services will remain unaffected, with support continuing as usual.
No Development Base in Pakistan
Unlike India, Microsoft never established a development or engineering center in Pakistan. It focused only on sales operations.
Still, this exit is seen as a major setback and sends a concerning message to other global tech firms watching Pakistan’s market.
