IRCTC Launches AI Voice Booking — Know How It Works

IRCTC Voice Booking: Booking train tickets has now become easier for passengers. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched a voice-based feature using artificial intelligence, called AskDisha 2.0. With this, passengers can now book tickets by speaking, without needing to type.

What is AskDisha 2.0?

AskDisha 2.0 is IRCTC’s new voice chatbot. It helps make ticket booking simple and user-friendly. This feature is available on both the IRCTC website and mobile app, and supports both Hindi and English languages.

How to use AskDisha 2.0?

It will ask for travel details like station name, date, and travel class.

The assistant will then give you train options, timings, and seat availability.

After you choose your train and class, it will verify your details and take you to the payment page.

Once the payment is complete, your ticket will be booked and you will get the PNR via SMS and email.

Why is this feature useful?

This feature is especially useful for people who have trouble typing or are not comfortable using a keyboard on mobile.

It makes the ticket booking process faster, simpler, and more interactive through voice commands.

This update from IRCTC also supports the Digital India Mission, making railway services smarter and more user-friendly.

Train fares to rise from July 1

From July 1, 2025, Indian Railways will increase fares for long-distance mail and express trains. As per the new fare rule:

Non-AC passengers will pay 1 paisa more per kilometer

AC passengers will pay 2 paisa more per kilometer

This change will apply to all long-distance trains in the country.

The Railway Ministry clarified that fares for suburban trains and Monthly Season Tickets (MST) will not change.

However, second-class passengers traveling more than 500 kilometers will pay 0.5 paisa more per kilometer.
