There is good news for EPFO members. Now, if you want to take an advance from your PF fund, you won’t have to wait long.
The government has raised the auto settlement limit from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.
This announcement was made by Union Labor and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on 24 June 2025.
This Service Began During the COVID-19 Pandemic
EPFO had started the auto settlement system for advance claims during the COVID-19 period to help people quickly access their PF money.
Earlier, the auto settlement limit was Rs 1 lakh, but it has now been increased to Rs 5 lakh. This change will help those facing urgent financial needs in emergencies.
Positive Response on Social Media
After the news came out, people appreciated this move on social media platform X.
One user wrote, “Great move by EPFO! Auto settlement up to Rs 5 lakh is a big relief for those who need money urgently. This is not just a facility, it is an honour.”

According to the latest EPFO data, 19.14 lakh new members joined in April 2025. This is a 31.31% rise compared to March 2025 and a 1.17% increase from April 2024.
The largest number of new joiners were in the 18 to 25 age group. In this group alone, 4.89 lakh people joined, making up 57.67% of the total new members.
Maharashtra Tops the Chart
Looking at state-wise data, Maharashtra added the highest number of new PF members, ahead of all other states.
