What is an Interest Certificate and why is it important?

An Interest Certificate is an official document that shows how much interest you have earned in one financial year on your Post Office Savings Bank (POSB) accounts—like Savings Account, Recurring Deposit (RD), or Fixed Deposit (FD).

This certificate is important for several reasons. You need it for filing Income Tax Returns (ITR), planning your finances, doing a tax audit, or for other financial needs.
