WhatsApp is introducing a new feature for iPhone users that will make managing chats much easier. The update is designed to reduce clutter in the app and help users quickly access the conversations that matter most.

With this feature, users will be able to choose which chat filters appear at the top of the Chats tab and which ones are moved to a separate section.

New Chat List Management System Coming to iPhone

According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is testing a new chat list management system for iOS users. The feature was previously spotted on Android, and it is now being rolled out to selected iPhone users as well.

The new system allows users to organize chat filters based on their personal preferences. This means important chats can stay easily accessible while unnecessary filters can be hidden from the main screen.

Easier Access to Important Chats

At present, WhatsApp offers filters such as Favorites, Unread, Groups, and Communities. Users can also create custom chat lists.

However, as more filters are added, finding the right one can become difficult because users have to scroll through a long list. The new update aims to solve this problem by making chat filters easier to manage.

Frequently used filters will remain visible on the main Chats screen, while less-used filters will be moved to a separate menu that can be opened using a new Filter button.

This will make the chat screen cleaner and help users find conversations faster.

More Control Over Default Filters

The update also gives users greater control over WhatsApp’s default filters.

For example, if a user rarely uses the Favorites filter, they can remove it from the main screen and place it inside the secondary menu. As a result, only the filters that are actually useful will remain visible in the Chats tab.

This added flexibility will help users customize WhatsApp according to their own needs and preferences.

New Draft Messages Filter Added

Another useful addition is a dedicated Draft filter.

Draft messages are messages that users start typing but do not send. WhatsApp currently marks such chats with a green “Draft” label.

With the new filter, all chats containing unfinished messages will be grouped together in one place.

This will make it much easier to find incomplete conversations and finish messages that were left unsent. It can also reduce the chances of forgetting important chats.

When Will the Feature Be Available?

The new chat management system is currently available to selected WhatsApp users through the App Store and TestFlight beta program.

WhatsApp has not announced an official release date for all users yet. However, the feature is expected to reach more iPhone users in the coming weeks.

For people who handle a large number of chats every day, this update could make WhatsApp more organized, cleaner, and easier to use.
