Toyota launches affordable Compact SUV “Taisor” in India

Toyota Kirloskar has introduced its latest addition to the Indian market, the Urban Cruiser Taisor, marking its most budget-friendly compact SUV yet.

The unveiling follows a teaser release earlier in April, with the official launch taking place on April 3rd.

Notably, the Taisor is a rebadged version of the Maruti Fronx, with Toyota implementing cosmetic alterations to personalize the vehicle.

Engine Options and Performance

The Urban Cruiser Taisor comes with two engine choices: a 1.2-liter petrol engine and a 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine,

with an additional E-CNG option available.

Transmission options vary, with the 1.0-liter turbo engine model offering a choice between 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission,

while the 1.2-liter petrol engine variant provides a 5-speed manual transmission and intelligent gear shift option.

In terms of performance,

the turbo engine variant boasts a maximum power output of 100 PS and offers mileage claims of 21.5 km/litre for manual transmission and 20 kmpl for automatic.

On the other hand, the 1.2-liter petrol engine delivers a maximum power of 89.73 PS and impressive mileage figures of 21.7 kmpl for manual transmission and 22.8 kmpl for automatic.

Toyota also claims a mileage of 28.5 km/kg for the hybrid model.

Variant-wise Pricing

The pricing for the Toyota Taisor varies depending on the chosen variant,

ensuring options to suit diverse budgets and preferences.

Safety Features

Safety remains paramount, with the Taisor equipped with an array of safety features including 6 airbags,

hill hold assists, ABS with EBD, seat belt reminder, anti-theft security system, ISOFIX points, battery headlamps,

and door and lock status indicators.

Design and Interior Features

The Taisor sports an aerodynamic design with a sleek, sloping roof and chrome garnish grille at the front.

Notable design elements include 16-inch alloy wheels, twin DRLs, connected tail lamps, shark fin antenna, and a sporty rear skid plate.

Inside, the Taisor offers a dual-tone dashboard, electric power steering, automatic climate control, and rear AC vents.

Tech enthusiasts will appreciate features like the Head-Up display, 9-inch HD SmartPlay Cast infotainment system, and compatibility with Apple and Android CarPlay, along with a six-speaker setup.

With bookings already underway and deliveries set to commence in May 2024, the Toyota Taisor aims to set new standards for affordability, performance, and safety in the compact SUV segment.
