Construction work on the runway of Noida International Airport in Jewar is almost 70% complete and is targeted to be completed by February-March 2024, said officials.
On Friday, SP Goyal, Additional Chief Secretary to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Civil Aviation Department, visited the site to inspect ongoing work.
Noida International Airport is set to bring joy to eager travelers, with operations slated to commence in October 2024.

Noida International Airport Limited has revealed its plans for flight routes. Of the 65 daily flights, 62 will cater to domestic destinations, addressing the surging demand within India.
Additionally, two flights will connect Noida International Airport to foreign destinations, marking its entry onto the global stage.
Moreover, cargo services will kick off with one daily flight dedicated to cargo transport.
Domestic Connections
The airport will link up with a range of domestic destinations, including Dehradun, Pithoragarh, and several other locations. This expanded network will complement the flights to major cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Pune.
Factors Influencing the Opening Date
Several factors influence the airport’s operational date, including airport capacity, commercial considerations, and an in-depth assessment. These factors are carefully weighed to ensure a smooth start.
Insight from NIAL CEO
Arun Veer Singh, the CEO of Noida International Airport Limited, shared insights into the airport’s future. He mentioned that flights to foreign destinations, such as Dubai and Singapore, are on the horizon.
Notably, both IndiGo and Air India have expressed strong interest in establishing bases at Noida International Airport, and discussions with them are underway.
Passenger Projections
Projections indicate that in its inaugural year of operations, Noida International Airport is expected to serve around 50 lakh passengers, with an estimated annual footfall of 1.2 crore passengers in the first phase.
Plans for a second runway are already in motion, and construction will commence once the airport reaches 80 percent of its scheduled passenger capacity.
